About passion

For as far as he can remember, Brian Legrand has been passionate about pretty much anything electronics. Soldering iron in his hand by the age of 10, he would take apart any old piece of equipment he could get hold of. “There was just something fascinating and exhilarating about a circuit board, and all those little intricate elements” he recalls. Soon thereafter, he would start visiting hi-fi / stereo equipment showrooms with his father, starting to appreciate not only music but also how important the sound quality reproduction was in the overall enjoyment. The years go by, the technology evolves, digital era takes over. Surround receivers become the norm and the centerpiece of any household, serving as a movie entertainment center as much as music rendition. He got caught up in it as well. But eventually realizes that the sound was - by his own words - “bleached'“. Digitally cleaned compressed data just lacked the purity of sound he once remembered. This bring us to today. Rediscovering the vintage sound from the 70’s and 80’s “brought back the warmth and depth in the sound I once enjoyed and missed so dearly” he was caught saying. R&B Stereo was founded. His motto: “Keep Analog Alive”.
